t is no secret that Real Madrid and Neymar have been walking parallel to each other for the best part of a decade, and after his move to Paris Saint-Germain, it appears that the Brazilian joining Los Blancos is not quite the impossible dream many thought.
Real Madrid tried to sign him multiple times during his Santos career, they thought their offer in 2013 was enough, it was even intimated that the Brazilian was set for a medical in the Spanish capital, however he chose Barcelona.
That move to Catalonia put paid to any hopes that the former Santos star would grace the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the famous white shirt, however that doesn't seem so clear now.
We may well be at the moment where after following parallel paths for so long, the two parties may finally be about to meet.
Neymar has been left irked by the lack of competitive football in France's Ligue 1, he arrived in Paris with the ambition of winning the Ballon d'Or but is quickly realising that he isn't being tested in most matches.
The feeling is that club chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi has absolutely no interest in entertaining any offers for the world's most expensive footballer, and the forward's entourage always speak of a minimum two year stay in the French capital.
It must be remembered just how impossible a departure from the Camp Nou seemed though, yet that happened.
