Chelsea also raised their lead to 26 points and Liverpool fifth to 23. Liverpool were on their way to victory after coming through their Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah as he watched the Alex Alexleid-Chamberlain head up from close range in the left corner of Chelsea's former goal in the 65th minute when Belgian goalkeeper Typo Cortua came out to tackle him.
